Duties
& Responsibilities
-
Care
for children from the age of 2-5 years
- Follow
school curriculum
-
Ensure
that classroom materials are kept in good condition
-
Maintain
a clean, neat and orderly classroom as per the checklist provided
by the school
-
Maintain
a professional appearance
-
Develop
and maintain a professional attitude with co-workers and parents
-
Arrangement
for and assistance with medical and dental care
-
Properly
store and distribute medication
-
Maintain
rules for the protecting of children
-
Superve
children’s schedules and activities for the protection
of children
-
Monitor
food intake or special diets
-
Follow
government prescribed childcare guidelines
-
Put
the safety of children as the foremost responsibility
-
Administer
CPR if necessary
-
Change
diapers and maintain washrooms after each diaper change
-
Complete
a written report of any injury however minor for any child under
care at the school
-
On
time attendance
-
Actively
participate in Earthquake Preparation drills
Qualifications
-
Passed
at
least 12 Units in early childhood education or child
development at an accredited or approved college
-
Qualify under the Health and Safety regulations which includes
completing a complete physical test including a TB test if you
have not already done so
-
Pass
a Criminal Background Check for submission to the Department
of Social Services
-
CPR
training - We will send you for training at our cost if you
do not currently have a valid CPR certificate
Special
Skills
Preference
will be given to applicants with qualified Montessori Teaching
experience and good computer skills.
Line
of Supervision
All
teachers have ultimate responsibility to and answerable to the
Director of the school. In an emergency or any situation requiring
clarification all staff must contact the Director and owner/administrator
of the school immediately.
